History Of School

Akkamahadevi Girls High School (AGHS) was established in 1962, and was the first school founded by SJJES to provide education for girls in Old Davanagere, where such facilities were lacking. As a private aided school, AGHS serves students from Grades 8 to 10, with Kannada as the medium of instruction. The school operates from a well-maintained private building, featuring two classrooms, additional rooms for non-teaching activities, a library with 5,100 books, and a playground. AGHS provides a conducive learning environment with essential facilities like functional toilets, electricity, and drinking water.

At Akkamahadevi Girls High School, we take pride in being pioneers of girls’ education in Old Davanagere. Our mission is to empower young minds through quality learning in a supportive environment. With a legacy of excellence since 1962, we remain committed to nurturing future leaders. Together, let’s inspire and achieve greatness.
