About

Sree Jagadguru Jayavibhava Educational Society (SJJES) was established in 1962 by Sree Veerabhadrappa M. Chigateri, an industrialist and visionary. Inspired by his father, Sree Dharmaprakasha Murigappa Chigateri, a respected humanitarian and philanthropist, Sree Veerabhadrappa founded SJJES with a unique mission.

With the support of Sree Nijalingappa, former CM of Mysore State, and eminent citizens of Davanagere, SJJES was founded in 1962 as a social service initiative to provide education to underprivileged children without a profit motive. Registered under the Mysore Societies Registration Act, SJJES has been committed to offering basic education at a low cost, enrolling students without discrimination, and providing equal opportunities for all, enabling individuals to explore their true potential.

Initially, SJJES launched two schools—Akkamahadevi Girls High School and Sree Jagadguru Jayavibhava Murugarajendra High School—to address the region’s lack of educational institutions for girls and boys. Over the decades, SJJES expanded its reach, establishing nine schools that cater to students from nursery to higher secondary levels. These schools operate with a dual focus on Kannada and English mediums, ensuring that students from diverse backgrounds benefit from the education provided.

The society’s growth is a testament to its unwavering commitment to inclusivity and equality. SJJES is dedicated to bridging the educational gap for marginalised communities, upholding its founding values. It aims to provide a supportive environment for students to develop their academic and personal potential.

Mission

At SJJES, we empower underprivileged children through inclusive, affordable, and quality education. Our programs promote academic excellence, character development, and holistic growth. We equip students with skills to drive socio-economic change and equality through structured education, extracurricular activities, and vocational training.

Vision

To use education as a catalyst for socio-economic change, aiming to eliminate poverty and foster equality. We envision a society where all children have the opportunity to rise above their circumstances and contribute to a more just and equitable world.

Philosophy

Providing affordable education to students from all sections of society without any discrimination lies at the heart of our philosophy. We are dedicated to creating an inclusive environment where every student, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to achieve their full potential and contribute positively to society. Our unwavering commitment to equality ensures that every student feels valued and respected within our educational community
